Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to every operator, team member, and organization using Korent ("the Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service. In plain terms: run a legitimate rental business, message people who asked to hear from you, and don't put anyone at risk.
1. Lawful Use Only
You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation — including consumer-protection, licensing, safety, tax, and data-protection laws that apply to your rental business.
2. Messaging Rules
Korent sends email, SMS, and WhatsApp messages on your behalf. You are the sender of record, so:
- No unsolicited marketing. Only message customers who have a business relationship with you or who have opted in.
- Comply with messaging laws that apply to your recipients — including the TCPA (US), CASL (Canada), PECR (UK), and the Spam Act (Australia). Honor opt-outs immediately.
- Keep transactional messages transactional. Order confirmations, receipts, reminders, and status updates must not carry promotional content.
3. Prohibited and Dangerous Listings
You may not list or rent through the Service:
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives
- Products subject to a safety recall
- Anything that is illegal to rent, or that requires a license or permit you do not hold, in the jurisdictions you serve
- Items marketed in a way that encourages unsafe or unlawful use
4. Intellectual Property
Do not upload or publish content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights — including product photos you do not have the right to use and branded characters or logos used without permission.
5. Platform Integrity
You may not:
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-harvest data from the Service, or circumvent rate limits
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without our prior written authorization
- Upload malware or other harmful code
6. No Misrepresentation
Do not misrepresent your identity, your business, your credentials (licensing, insurance, inspections), or the condition and safety of your equipment. Do not state or imply that Korent endorses, certifies, or vouches for your business — Korent is your software provider, not your partner or guarantor.
7. Enforcement
Violations are normally handled in escalating steps: a warning with a chance to correct the issue, then suspension of the affected features or account, then termination. For fraud, illegal activity, or conduct that endangers people, we may suspend or terminate immediately and without notice. We may also remove individual listings or messages that violate this policy, and we cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.
8. Reporting
